After working at a medium-sized law firm in Utrecht, I co-founded BVDV in 2006 with Harm Bruggink. We wanted to do things differently. At BVDV, we operate based on trust and openness, and everyone is involved in the decision-making process. The sustainable business model of BVDV has been recognized with the B Corp certification. Globally, BVDV ranks among the top 10% of B Corps in terms of employee performance.

I have been active in the legal profession for over 20 years, primarily advising entrepreneurs from startup to exit. I provide guidance on appropriate corporate structures, various commercial contracts, and oversee merger and acquisition processes, including due diligence. Additionally, I am involved in liability law and real estate transactions. More recently, I have engaged in creating so-called “smart contracts” and new methods of employee participation, including in the blockchain.

The simplest solution often works best. We have experienced this within BVDV, and we strive to express this in our advisory services as much as possible. However, simplicity requires creativity, continual exploration of alternatives, and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. Therefore, I enjoy brainstorming with entrepreneurs not only about legal issues but also about their business. Together, we seek the simplest solution.
